Wearing a dress in December can help bring awareness of human trafficking. Dressember is about wearing a dress throughout December for thirty-one days. It is estimated that 9.2 million men experienced human trafficking. If you see someone in an abusive situation or suspect human trafficking, contact the authorities. Do not investigate by yourself.
It is recommended to let authorities investigate especially for your safety and their safety. Also, do not follow the person or the group, especially if they are traveling. It is necessary to contact authorities and the National Human Trafficking hotline. Do not post images of someone who might be experiencing human trafficking on your social media. Do not get involved in the investigation but do report it.
To prevent human trafficking, you can take a training course. As well as participating in your child's school and learning about human trafficking prevention in the school. As a parent, you can suggest having a class about human trafficking prevention and internet safety. Additionally, you can speak to your child about internet safety. Last, if you are taking classes in college, suggest an information day about bringing awareness of preventing human trafficking.
Participate in Dressember and use the hashtag, " End Trafficking" on your social media. Seven in ten cases of human trafficking are women and children. Recognizing the warning signs of human trafficking can help save someone's life and can help you to report it to authorities. Additionally, recognizing the consequences of human trafficking can help them find the necessary resources for their recovery. Furthermore, understanding human trafficking and bringing awareness online can help someone who is experiencing it.
