Summer, Classical Music, & Self-Care

Classical music in the summer can help you reduce stress and can help you improve your sleep. Also, it can help you improve your self-confidence. It can help you relax with your self-care routine. Listen to classical music before taking a bath or before taking a shower. Listen to classical composers such as Antonio Vivaldi, Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky, Felix Mendelssohn, Claude Debussy while you read, take a bath, or other self-care activities.

The summer season can make you temporarily irritable, frustrated, or sad. However, doing self-care with classical music can be soothing and make you joyful. Also, the summer season can make you too busy to slow down especially if you have too many planned activities. Yet, classical music is helpful and makes you remain calm as you enjoy your summer vacation. It can also help you slow down as you cook your meals while listening to classical music.

Practice movement meditation with classical guitar composers such as Carlo Domeniconi, Andrew York, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jan Depreter, Fernando Sor, and Mauro Giuliani. Creating your own dance with the sounds of the classical guitar and other instruments can help you exercise and meditate at the same time. During your self-care routine, you can listen to classical music to practice more self-awareness, mindfulness, and for managing emotions. Always consult with your music therapist and doctor about managing emotions. Classical music can be incorporated into your house cleaning, spa days, and whenever you want to hear uplifting music before you begin your daily tasks.

You can listen to classical music for one hour or while you are taking a break from your house cleaning or summer work tasks. Cleaning is another way to do self-care because it can help you improve your self-confidence, mood, and your overall wellness. Make a playlist of classical music that you like before you start cleaning your bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, or your meditation room. You can listen to a waltz, march, or a classical composition that makes you motivated to clean. Classical composers such as Johann Strauss II, Richard Strauss, Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Nikolai Rimsky-Koraskov, and Gioachino Rossini can help you reduce your stress before cleaning your home.

If you are a beginner at listening to classical music, listen to a classical composition for five minutes. Gradually listen to the same classical composition for ten minutes. After that continue listening to the classical compositions from the same classical composer. Additionally, read about the life of the classical composer and attend classical music concerts in the summer. Lastly, if you cannot attend the concerts in person, look for online classical music concerts.

Another recommendation is to listen to classical music in the morning before going to work or before your summer vacation begins. This can change your morning routine even if you listen to classical music during the weekends. Also, classical music during the summer can help you focus. Practice visual meditation or paint what you visualize while you are listening to the music. No matter what type of classical music you select, make sure you are not distracted while you practice self-care.

Additionally, you can listen to classical music in the afternoon while you practice Yoga or mindful eating. Change your self-care routine at night by incorporating slow classical compositions to prepare your mind and body for sleep. Apply a face mask or wash your face while you listen to a short classical composition. You can practice listening to classical music twice a week throughout the summer.
