Finding Your Inner Beauty & Authentic Self

What does inner beauty mean to you? How do you develop inner beauty? Sometimes having low self-esteem makes you ignore and not see your inner beauty. Growing up with too much negativity, family arguments, family comparisons, and having peer pressure can make you feel less attractive. It can make it difficult to find your inner beauty and can make you feel uncomfortable with yourself.

Growing up in a negative family environment as a teenager can make you feel less confident and not see your strengths, your capabilities, and what you can achieve. Although you felt beautiful with your appearances and felt comfortable with your teenager body; From the inside you felt something was making you feel sad and missing to completely feel beautiful. It took a lot of time for me to develop my self-image, my self-esteem, my self-confidence, and to develop inner beauty. Having a boyfriend is nice but having low self-esteem can affect your relationship with them. Depending on your thoughts about inner beauty or what you have heard about what it means to have inner beauty, it is something that one needs to find to embrace self-love.

Often your level of self-esteem and your self-confidence can make you not believe what your boyfriend tells you about being beautiful. Additionally, there might be times when you do not believe how beautiful you are no matter what others see in you. Set aside some time to do self-reflection in front of a mirror and without a mirror to help improve your self-acceptance. According to Steve Goodier, " When beauty lives in the heart, it does not need to show up anywhere else." Once you accept yourself and are aware of your strengths, you can see what others see in your inner beauty.

Inner beauty has nothing to do with feeling young although some feel younger from the inside. For me inner beauty is what you transmit to others which can begin with kindness, helping others, having compassion, and being authentic to yourself. This type of beauty affects your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions towards others which often some people might take for granted. Do not stop yourself from being genuine, honest, generous, and from your true self. Truthfulness and not being greedy are two challenges that are constantly floating in one’s thoughts when making decisions.

However, to have inner beauty is a learning process through experiences and having a commitment to oneself to feel more genuine. In addition, practice gratitude, appreciation, and inner peace with yourself and with others. Appreciate and encourage yourself to take care of yourself through self-care. Practice self-awareness and self-confidence through mindfulness. In the mornings practice mindfulness when you are washing your face, applying facial lotion on your face, or applying your lip balm.

According to scientific research, your mind and emotions can affect your skin because of the connection it has when it feels stress. Mindfulness can help you take care of your skin, slow down, and to see your beautiful qualities from the exterior. Yet, taking care of your feelings, your thoughts, and emotions internally can reduce your stress. Pay attention to your self-talk and analyze it to see if that is how you really feel about it or if it is just pessimistic self-talk due to bad experiences. Mindfulness is one tool for motivating you to see your inner beauty.

Positive affirmations can also be used to change your mindset and to feel beautiful from the inside. Use a vision board with images of animals, flowers, or other things in nature to help you feel inspired about your strengths. For example, you might want to put a picture of a Lion, a Tiger, or a wild animal to remind you of your bravery, your patience, your grace, or your confidence. Practice self-care, self-expression, and self-confidence. Continue practicing mindfulness at night by taking care of your feet, your hands, taking a shower, washing your face, or other beauty routine.

Although negativity cannot be eliminated in its entirety, it is best to reduce it to avoid hurting your inner beauty, your inner peace, and your inner strength. Do not feel you are being vain but do feel optimistic about yourself. Make a list of your strengths and not what you like about your appearances. Practice self-improvement, self-knowledge, and self-awareness daily to help you find your strong points about yourself. Another way is by practicing social intelligence and emotional intelligence when you are with others.

Do volunteer work and take breaks to help you develop a positive mindset. Express yourself authentically without being afraid of what others might say about your clothing, your hairstyle, and other aspects of your appearance. Practice mindfulness when you get dressed before you go to work, to a party, to a family gathering, or to another event. Celebrate yourself and feel beautiful from the interior and from the exterior.
