How Do You Relax in the Autumn Season?
Relaxing in
the autumn season can be difficult especially if you are preparing for the
holidays. It can also be challenging if you are changing jobs or in the process
of getting a new career. However, relaxation in the autumn season can help you
focus on achieving your new career goals, certifications, or your new degree.
Studying for several months can stress you out as an adult but it does make you
feel motivated knowing you can improve your job skills. Even if you are not
changing your career, relaxing in the autumn season can make you accept the
things you cannot change and enjoy the new season.
Begin by
meditating with autumn leaves. Hold an autumn leaf in your hand as you close
your eyes. Visualize the dry leaves as you hold the leaf. Imagine each vibrant
color of the leaf to be filled with positive thoughts. Open your eyes and feel
the warm wind blowing your hair and blowing into your ears.
After that, put
the dry leaves back in the soil. Next, pick up more leaves as you slowly inhale
and exhale. Slowly use the leaves and mix it into compost and for protecting
your plants in your garden. Another way is by visualizing the multiple colors
on the leaves on your mind and closing your eyes. Visualize the colors and name
each color a positive emotion.
Open your eyes. Begin walking and throwing the leaves up in the air. Look at the leaves as you throw them up in the air. You can also do this by sitting or standing up as you throw the leaves up in the air. Continue throwing the leaves as you think positive emotions.
Walk slowly and feel
the warm crisp air outside. If you have fall allergies, check the pollen count
before meditating outside. An alternative version of meditating during the autumn
season is decorating your home with artificial decorative leaves. Make a hot
tea with spices or with a tea that makes you think about the fall season. As
you wait for the tea, scent your dining room with essential oils.
Use essential oils such
as cedarwood, pine, vanilla, orange, cinnamon, clove, sandalwood, or nutmeg in
your diffuser to get in the mood for the fall season. Make sure you are not
allergic to any of the essential oil scents that you use for your diffuser. Next,
decorate your dining table with artificial decorative leaves. Use a battery-operated
candle or battery powered LED Fairy lights in the center of your dining table. Drink
your hot tea and focus on the fairy lights or on the battery-operated candlelight.
If you are feeling
comfortable meditating indoors during the autumn season, you can also dress in
warm autumn colors before you meditate. Enjoy the new season by releasing
physical tension by stretching, movement meditation, or yoga poses. Imagine
yourself feeling calm, joyful, and filled with positivity as you get comfortable
with the new season. Purchase autumn incense sticks such as vanilla, pumpkin
spice, rose and cinnamon, or balsam cedar. Here are resources for more ways to
meditate and to relax in the autumn season.
