Affirmations for Gratitude (National Gratitude Month 2022)
When gratitude is
practiced, you will improve your relationships with your friends, your partner,
acquaintances, and with your family. To feel gratitude, you must allow yourself
to feel appreciated and to feel good about saying thank you. Yet, gratitude can
be difficult to feel especially when you are having a tough time. However, if
you use positive affirmations, you will be able to find it easier to feel
thankful for everything. You will look at the bad events as an experience.
You will see the
good events as a reminder that all bad events are temporary. For some people, feeling
gratitude comes out naturally but for others, it takes time to feel it. To feel
this positive emotion, you must not fake it because you will not be honest with
yourself. Most of the time, you can see and feel when the thank you is genuine or
not. But the more you practice gratitude, you will be able to say thank you
automatically at the right moment.
Gratitude can be
practiced by saying thank you by looking in the mirror before you say it to
someone. You can say thank you to the cashier, to the nurse, or to someone that
gave you a seat in a public place. Additionally, you can say thank you to
someone who prepared your meal and write thank you notes. Also, you can write
positive affirmations about gratitude in your journal or make a thank you jar.
Here is a brief list of positive affirmations to help you feel gratitude.
- I am grateful for my friends that have stayed with me for many years.
- I am grateful for the friends that I had in the past and for the friends I have at the moment.
- I am grateful for my family’s advice and love.
- I am grateful for getting to know the people that I have dated.
- I am thankful for learning about myself through my experiences in dating.
- I am thankful for everything that people have given me.

Practice gratitude in the morning in your journal or the evening before going to sleep. Writing, reading, and saying positive affirmations will guide you to feel gratitude on a deeper level. Doing acts of kindness, feeling appreciated, and feeling appreciated is what strengthen this positive emotion. You can not feel gratitude if you feel anger and only review your disappointments.
