Long-distance relationships can be tricky, complicated, and lonesome. Most long-distance relationships do not last for many reasons. It may be a lack of emotional support, a lack of getting to know each other, not having expectations fulfilled, and self-doubts. Fears or drifting apart because of the lack of physical contact. The lack of physical contact and social communication in person did bring attention to one's need of connecting with someone. Dating is getting more difficult for singles who want to commit to a relationship. Sometimes long-distance relationships are the only option because of the pandemic. If you do want to be or are forced to be in a long-distance relationship, keep in mind that it will be a long emotional time. There will be times you might want to cry because you cannot hug your partner. 

Your partner might worry more about you especially if he or she does not hear from you. In other circumstances, your partner might feel you are not telling him or her everything about your problems. It is vital to set boundaries. Comfort your partner that he or she is the only person you love, trust, and want to be in the relationship. Be available for chatting with your partner.

Share your feelings, your thoughts, and your day. Get to know your partner emotionally. Although there is no physical contact with your partner, you can still learn how to flirt through your chats. Make sure you completely trust your partner before sending him or her half-nude pictures. If you feel uncomfortable sending nude pictures, you can send pictures fully clothed in sexy poses. 

Be careful when and how you are sending pictures to your partner. Discuss what you like and dislike when you are chatting. Let him or her know what you are comfortable doing throughout the long-distance relationship. Trust your intuition and do not give your entire heart on a platter. Be patient with yourself and with your partner. 

Long-distance relationships should not make you feel worse about yourself. You may feel lonely and filled with so many emotions at once. But a long-distance relationship may work if you and your partner work together to keep the relationship alive. Do not make expectations of how your relationship should be.
